ONA
The Oregon Nurses Association is the voice of nursing in Oregon. A professional association and labor union, ONA has stood for the integrity of the nursing profession for over 90 years and continues to represent thousands of registered nurses who are speaking up for improved patient care, better working conditions for all nurses, and quality health care delivery systems. A national nursing leader, ONA is a multi-purpose, non-profit association which:

· Advocates for high standards of nursing practice and patient care
· Provides collective bargaining services (to over 10,000 RNs at over 50 hospitals and health facilities) which advance nurses' economic welfare and promote their professional needs
· Introduces comprehensive legislative services for improved health care practices in Oregon
· Offers outstanding continuing education opportunities
· Implements community health programs such as childhood immunizations
· Promotes a positive image of nursing in the media through stories about nurses; health care and patient care issues; ONA public education campaigns and its community service programs.

ONA is governed by a 13 member Board of Directors who are registered nurses from throughout the state. Its annual House of Delegates, comprised of RN delegates elected from each district, establish policy for ONA.
